Good Day YERIZA Readers!!!
Fashion isn't something that exists in dresses alone. Its in
the skies, the street. It has to do with ideas, style, the way we live and
everything around us. To achieve a stylish look as a Debonair (A sophisticated person,
confident and who is carefully dressed) Especially men.
Their are dos and donts when trying to
put on that Striped long sleeved shirt with a pant that match or trying to wear
a suit jacket or a blazer on a dress shirt or polo. To start up my
first post on this platform, I have a few simple style tips I would like to
share with you all. To some it ll serve as a breaking news, while others will
see it as a reminder, nonetheless I need it to serve both purposes, because
knowledge is never a waste.
STYLE TIPS
- Fit is Key and Fit is King.
Fit is very
important, its the first most important aspect of style. You wouldn't want to
step out with an over sized shirt or pant or a tight shirt or pant. Fit simply
means wearing what is exactly your size not too big( loosed) not too small
(tight) just fitted. And mind you Fitted doesn't mean tight. It simply means
cutting out extra fabric and designing the shirt or pant to be more contoured
to the human body of exact size and shape. Its rather preferable you wear a
cheap shirt that fits well as opposed to an expensive high quality
"Baggy" one. All pants (Trousers) comes in different color and sizes, get that which fits.
- Invest In Your Shoes.
Every great outfit start at the feet. Having a different variety of shoe
makes it easier to step out in confidence and style. Good shoes take you good
places. A well detailed fashion icon makes shoe contact before eye contact.
Investing in your shoes will leave you with nothing less of a classic fellow
Contrary to popular
believe that fashion and style requires fortunes, it isn't, all you need do
is to make better choices, get creative, know your need from want. Your work
profession can help to determine your better choices of your clothes so as to look
stylish.
- Don't Be A Brand Snub.
Just coz you spend
alotta money on something or its brand name doesn't mean that it looks good on
you and absolutely doesn't mean that it's stylish. Patronize other brands,
get variety of options. It helps in building your style and gain fresh
ideas about how classy other brands will look on you. Fashion is all about
creativity and patronizing other brands will bring out the style and confidence
you desire.
- Its Okay to Be Strategically
Overdressed.
Over the years I've
met a lot of people who complain about been overdressed for an event, shows or
parties. But there is nothing wrong in getting "Strategically"
overdressed, Next time when you want to step into that event or show in
grand style and grandeur just keep in mind the event, know whats expected, know
whose going to be there then take it up a notch. There is nothing wrong with
been the best dressed guy or lady in the room.
- Button Your Jacket While Standing Unbutton
While Sitting.
Vast majority of men
violate these rules because they do not wear suits regularly. These small
rules is used by "Those in the know" to identify other men in
"The know" A buttoned suit when standing cuts a cleaner silhouette
and reveals the right fit of the suit. Unbutton while sitting allows you to sit
comfortably, prevents wrinkles and keeps the button from popping.
- Tie and Lapel.
Its advisable to
match your tie with same size of your suit lapel. This means slim lapel slim
tie, wide lapel wide tie.
- Suit Dry Cleaning.
Never take your suit
to the dry cleaner after every wear. Only take it to the dry cleaner when its
stinky or when u spill on it.Never take your suit or pant to the dry cleaner
separately: you do this a few time its going to fade differently because dry
cleaning deteriorates and break down suit fabric.
- Belt and Shoe.
It is stylishly
acceptable to match your dress belt and show and stylishly unacceptable not to
match them. This emotes the confidence in style.
·
Sunglasses.
They need to come off your face upon entering a building. Makes u look like a douche. Take off the
sunglasses after making 2 step upon entering a building.
- Accessories.
Wear rings one per hand. Don’t wear multiple rings on a single hand.
Your wristwatch and bracelet should match. For an example wear a rose gold
bracelet with a rose gold ring or bracelet.
